In 2019, running a thriving international logistics company that ships from China to Nigeria, I had bad news which involved my dad undergoing surgery which led to a partial stroke. In the bid to be supportive to the family, I left China to Nigeria which left my business in total dismay due to the COVID-19 pandemic which caused a global lockdown and got me stuck in Nigeria.

This led me to starting out a delivery company which was my initial plan, but this time with the motive to understand the relationships between businesses and consumers. It felt miserable and difficult having access to the most basic commodities from even the closest small or medium scale brand around my location online.

This put me on a mission to find out how brand accessibility was not only a problem I experienced but also a problem experienced by millions of Nigerians.

We began calculating the cost of online presence in Nigeria and Africa, discovering the unsustainable cost of websites and apps for small and medium businesses. This left over 40% of Africans relying on social media for business and about 30% completely offline.

This led my team and I to build what we describe as the first ever “African App Store”, combining brand accessibility and identity through automated mini mobile apps and mini web apps for businesses. Our official launch was in February 2023, and we have since remained advocates for change across the African continent.
